Heidi Brown was commissioned in the U.S. Army in 1981 following graduation from the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, N.Y. She has served in numerous locations in the U.S., Germany, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, and has commanded at the battery, battalion, and brigade level thus far in her career. Col. Brown deployed her brigade to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003, and later that year the 31st Air Defense Artillery Brigade deployed into Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She has served on both the Army Staff and Joint Staff at the Pentagon. Col. Brown has received numerous awards, including the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star.
